{Since I Won't Be Blogging Sunday...}

...I can't skip an opportunity to blog about my mother for Mother's Day!

True story, when I was born, the nurse handed me to my mother, she took one look at me and she swore up and down that they had the wrong baby...blonde hair, green eyes and just as white as can be. Actually my brother and I both have the light hair and the light eyes, but we share so many of her beautiful features. See below...

My mom is such a strong, determined, and powerful woman. Sometimes I really wonder how she does it all. She can have a hundred things go wrong and still she doesn't give up hope. She just rolls with the punches and does what she needs to do. I don't know where she finds the strength. I know I find the strength to keep going, through her. When times are bad, she's always the first one I turn to. She always knows just what to do moms do that?
I'm constantly learning from her and taking mental notes of all the things she does. I never want to forget any of her witty comebacks, snide remarks or helpful words of wisdom. She's just got this personality that no one else can match. It's the Mama Lucia spell. Maybe one day I'll have it...
Sure she's my mother and she drives me crazy at times, but God love her, I couldn't live without her.
She's my rock and my best friend. I know it will be a while before we have children, especially with the new restaurant just opening but I hope to be half the mother she is. I also secretly hope we have a little girl, so I can share a bond with her like my mother and I do. There is no relationship on this planet like ours, and I wouldn't trade it for the world!
I love my momma! Happy Early Mother's Day to all the mommas out there! Be proud of yourselves, because a mom's work is never done!

There's something to be said about a woman who raises two awesome kiddos like these...

Happy Day!

  1. I love your momma too. :) She's a complete gem. I'll tell you a little secret Melissa. That secret is that usually .. USUALLY ... the daughters take on many of the characteristics that their mothers have. :) So, you will definitely... MOST LIKELY ... be the kind of mother your mom was to you. :)

We LOVE getting comments, go ahead and leave one!
