I'm Just Curious...

Let me ask you this...is your life, at this point, what you expected it to be when you were younger? Are you where you thought you'd be at this point in your life? I just wonder, because I know I'm not and I was curious if I was the only one. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but my life is almost the complete opposite of what I pictured it to be at this point. I mean seriously, does anyone else feel that way? Isn't it crazy how much we change as people? How we change our minds and change our paths. I never wanted to be married, let alone be married by 24. I was going to go college as far away as possible, not here in town. Working with my mom was not in my plan. I was going to live in a loft downtown with a girl friend. I figured I'd be some hot shot lawyer or something along those lines. I was going to work my 9-5 and wear heels to work every day.

I am so far away from that.

I'm 24. I drive 25 mintues to and from work. I never wear heels to work. I work from 8am-10 pm every day. I live in a home, in the suburbs. I share that home with my husband and our little akita. And I couldn't be happier. Life isn't always what you plan it to be, but that's ok. Life is still good and that's because, life is what you make it. I work a ridiculous amount right now. Some days it's harder that others. I miss my husband every second. Although I'm still not quite where I want to be, I'm ok with that. I know I'll get there eventually. Until then, I'm going to keep taking each day as it comes and keep pushing forward. I have my husband cheering me on, each step of the way.

Is anyone else with me? Are you still striving to be where you want to be? Keep on, keepin' on! You're not alone. :)

PS: I have a surprise in the works and I'm SUPER excited about it!

  1. You're not alone! I'm right there with you. When I read this I honestly had to sit here and think for a good long minute back to what I expected it to be. I remember saying at our age now that I'd be out living on my own, in a big corporate office job as an engineer or something making like six figs. Currently I'm still with my rents, pushing a PT job and still in school. But the best part is that I'm doing what I love and pursuing my passion making my dream a reality. Like you,I couldn't be happier and have all of the EXACT same thoughts.
