Chocolate Peanut Butter Balls-YUMMO!

Halloween party coming up? Or just a fun get together happening soon? I have a tasty little treat for you today! CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER BALLS!! Yay!
I first had these tasty little treats when I went back home with Kory to meet his mom for the first time. It was Thanksgiving and she made these for me,  instantly I knew she'd be in my life forever. :)  I'd never had them before and oh man, soooo good! She goes all out for the holidays. Peanut butter balls, cookies, turtles, fudge- she does it all! I'm a lucky woman, in that I get to eat them and learn how to make them!
I made two batches last year for our Annual Schartz Ugly Christmas Sweater Party. Good thing I made two batches because Tego ate the ENTIRE first batch. Yep. She lova da peanut butter! Crazy dog(no worries the chocolate didn't hurt her).
Anywho, why  don't we get on to the recipe.

INGREDIENTS:
18 oz peanut butter
3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1  1/2 sticks butter
2-4 cups Rice Krispies- I always use 4!
1 large chocolate bar. We use Plymouth Pantry Almond Bark you can find it at Walmart!

Mix all your ingredients together(minus the chocolate). I like to use my kitchen aid mixer. You definitely don't need one, but it is a lot of work without. Be prepared to use your muscles. Peanut butter is tough stuff.

Cool your PB mix in the fridge for at least 30 minutes. Pull it out and roll into 1 inch balls. Put back in the fridge.

Heating your chocolate is next. Most methods call for a double broiler. My mother in law got me a little fondue pot likes hers,  just for PB balls, so that's what I use. I heat the chocolate slowly, getting up to 200 degrees, no higher. Otherwise melt your chocolate in a double broiler.

Pull your PB balls out of the fridge, dip them in your chocolate and lay out on parchment paper. I put the parchment paper on a tray so that I can easily transport them back to the fridge once they're done! Let PB balls cool for 1 hour and store them in an airtight container! Enjoy!

(sorry all the pics are from my phone!)

 PROOF!

  2. I noticed you use a spoon and dip your pbutter balls into the chocolate, try putting the balls on a toothpick and dip them that way!! Soooo much easier!
