Black & White Chorus Canvas+An Update!

First of all, can we get a big round of applause for the talented Jennifer Laber, of Gomming. She is just the bomb.com! So brilliant she is, I'm lucky to call her a friend! Every time I think the blog can't get any better, she steps it up! I highly recommend her for her web design, among many other things! Be sure to check her out and let us know what you think about the new design, won't ya?

Ok, so as for today's post, here's what we have. A black and white free form chorus canvas. I saw this on one of my favorite blogs and I just had to replicate it. Especially with black and white being the theme in our living room. You guys have all heard our love story, if not catch up on it here. The story involves our favorite band, The Randy Roger's band. So naturally I chose to display one of their songs, Kiss Me in the Dark. My inspiration was done in black paint. I chose to do ours with permanent marker. I just felt that it would be easier for me. Four sharpies later, this is what we came up with.
I put a little RRB in the corner to pay credit to our favorite band. I LOVE how quirky and personal this canvas is to us. Seriously, like I keep just staring at it, admiring it. It's one of my favorite DIY pieces yet! And it only cost as much as the canvas($12.99!). For a little extra decor on the mantle, I made a little one that says, "you are my favorite." Because quite frankly, Kory is my favorite. :) I spent two nights lounging on the couch working on these. They were quick and actually fun to work on. You guys should make one.
I know I didn't switch anything up to make it unique to us(other than the song), but I read a post recently that said it is ok for us bloggers/women to learn and share. It's not copying. It's taking something that we've found, turning it into something personal for us and then sharing it with others, who may not have ever come across it. So I'm thankful that I was able to learn something and then in turn, share it with you guys.

Let me know what you think! Have a great weekend guys! We have several tutorials and fun things coming up next week!
xx,
Melissa Loren
