{Pack Up and Leave}

Do you guys ever get the notion to just pack up and leave? When I say it out loud, I realize that it sounds terrible. But wouldn't it be awesome to experience something different? Something new? Something fresh? Of course I don't mean that I'd pack up and leave my husband. He's stuck, he can't shake me. He won't shake me rather, and I wouldn't want him to. I would want him to join me in this fresh start. A new city with new expectations. Better yet, no expectations. It just sounds so good to me. Colorado...Texas...South Carolina...Illinois, because, because "why not?" Because we can. Because we're not confined to living in one place for a lifetime. Because there's so much to see, so much to do. Because nothing is tying us down here. Because we can.
Am I alone? Does anyone else ever have the urge to try something new? I think about it constantly. I think about what it would be like to run on the beach every day. I think about places where you have to walk everywhere or use the subway on a daily basis. Mountain life, wouldn't that be wondrous? What about a harbor city? Lighthouses, sailboats and and beautiful sunsets...

One day...
It probably won't be soon, but one day I will leave Missouri...

  1. I can assure you, you are not alone! I feel/get the urge quite often. And like you, it's not so much that I want to pack up and take off (though, I must admit, the thought of escaping for a road trip cross country with my crew sounds fun and would certainly be an adventure to remember). I've actually done that a few times.. I always found my way back to the same place I call home.

  2. Adventure is fun and I think it's natural for us to look for it! Don't be discouraged- maybe you can find new ways to even explore the area you live :) I just found your blog- love it! New follower :) I hope you'll stop by and check out mine. xo
