{DIY Floral Head Wrap}

If you saw my post yesterday, you know that I confessed that I am completely obsessed with floral head wraps this spring! I really cannot get enough of them. I actually have a wedding coming up this weekend that I really want to wear a floral wrap to. The thing is, all the wraps I shared yesterday are 20+ dollars and most are actually above $50(with the exception of the one I was wearing, it was $5.80 at F21! I didn't know if that one would be a little much for this wedding though.)! That also doesn't include shipping and tax. I know I'm a broken record, but I just can't afford that right now. So I thought I'd try to make my own. I did. And I'm pretty happy with it. :)

What you need:
Floral branches. I found mine at Michael's.
Wire cutters or really strong scissors.
Brown/copper floral wire
Total cost:
$13.24
BUT I think I can make at least 2 possibly 3 out of these supplies, sooo...about $4.13 a piece! I don't think you can beat that!

Here's how I did it:
I cut off 3 of the branches. I then bent the branches back and forth to loosen them up and make them more flexible. I pieced the 3 of them together to shape them in to an oval shape to fit my head. I overlapped them at about the halfway point of each branch to make the flowers appear thicker. Where I overlapped them, I wrapped the copper wire around them to hold them together. You want to make sure you wrap the wire tightly to hold the branches together and in place, permanently.

Let me talk about some of the possibilities that come with this project. You could totally do a branch wrap with large colorful flowers like I wore in yesterday's post. You could glue or sew large peonies or your favorite flowers to a stretchy headband(you can make them or find them at any craft store). You could use hemp to attach your flowers to. How about a leather wrap with little rosettes attached to it?! Simply glue the flowers on, use your own head to measure the length of your leather and tie a simple bow at the back of your head! There are so many directions you could go with this, the possibilities are endless. If you make one, please share it! I can't wait to make more of these beauties!
There ya have it! I love it! Simple and chic.
xx,
Melissa Loren
