From the Weekend!

I'm full of randomness today. I wish I had a ton of beautiful Easter pictures to share with you, but I don't. When you don't have children of your own or any small children in your family for that matter, it kind of takes the fun out of it. Don't get me wrong, we still had a fabulous Easter. We enjoyed time with my parents while we ate ham, brisket, homemade chicken and noodles, french silk pie, hash brown casserole and so on. We always have way too much food. It was a GORGeous day here in Kansas City, it truly was. I can't wait for more warm and sunny days!
Since I don't have any Easter pics for you, I thought I'd share some random pics from our weekend. Saturday night was girls night. What a great group of friends. Never a dull moment. 5 bottles of wine later...

When we went to my parents house for dinner on Sunday, I found myself mesmerized by mother's decor. It's not any different than it's ever been(other than the fact that she rearranges everything weekly!) but I just found myself so inspired. Every time I go over there I want to come home and work on our house. She's so good with details. There's a place for everything and by everything I mean old, new, traditional, modern. Their home is so eclectic, but in a classic way. I love it. I took a few pics to share with you guys.
I loved her hour glass, which she found at Nell Hills.

This ladder. Where has it been all my life?! She made it the perfect little shelf. She said oh it's old and chipping and I told her that's exactly what I love about it! Don't you just love what she did with it? Guess what? She let us pack it up and bring it home!! EEEK! Can't wait to share pics of what I do with it!
She had the cutest little table/stool with this painting of these beautiful poppies and a cross resting on it. Does anyone else love poppies?
In the kitchen she had this table right in the middle of the room as a stand-in island. My heart fluttered over all the cooking utensils and books she had on display.
This is an oldie but goodie. I hope I don't offend anyone with this pic. This is in their half bath right off the kitchen. Probably the most obnoxious light switch ever. Classy mom. The floor to ceiling slate walls are definitely swoon-worthy though!
I told you, RANDOMNESS! I'm sorry! I hope you all had a fantastic Easter weekend and an even more fabulous week!
xx,
-M
