{Baby Schartz: 26 Weeks}

How far along?: 26 weeks
Total weight gain?: 8.5lbs. That's 1lb since my last visit, doc even gave me a high five this week!
Size of baby?: Baby Schartz is the size of a head of lettuce!
Maternity clothes?: No, still squeezing into everything.

Stretch marks?: Nooooo! Please stay away!!
Sleep?: What's sleep? I used to be such a good sleeper...
Best moment this week: Let's see eating my veggie sushi(you should have seen/heard me, I was in heaven!), our baby shower and our doctor visit. We start two week visits now-crazy!!
Miss Anything?: I miss not knowing what acid reflux is. Hash tag annoying.
Movement?: Yes! It's almost like his kicks are getting softer though? It's like my belly is getting bigger and thicker so I can't feel them quite as strongly. I still feel them, without a doubt, but it's different. He rolls and wiggles a lot more too, instead of kicking and punching.
Food cravings: Still nothing, womp womp.
Anything making you queasy or sick?: The acid reflux makes me want to just lay down and sleep so it'll go away.
Gender: Baby BOY!! With the second sonogram, there is no doubt in my mind that we're having a little boy. Haha.
Labor signs: No.
Symptoms: I pee every 5 minutes, no joke. Swelling. Acid reflux. Braxton hicks? Is that possible? If not, there's something else going on...
Belly button in or out?: In :) It's actually looking smaller again? My belly is getting bigger and the button is getting smaller?
Wedding rings on or off?: On :)
Happy or moody most of the time?: I'm happy. I'm really, really starting to get anxious to meet this little boy.
Looking forward to: A month of no plans. August has nothing planned, other than work and catering jobs. I am going to kick back and relax!

These last couple of weeks have been exhausting. I look forward to eventually just relaxing and resting. We have nothing planned for a while and I'm so thankful. My body needs rest. I'm still dreaming of a getaway. Just a small one. It'd be nice to get away from work and the city and just experience something different. Maybe a nice dinner somewhere too? We've been working really hard to eat at home so that we can save money and I'm not going to lie, I miss eating delicious food at fun places.
Also, one thing I want to remember:
I was driving home from work late last night, almost in tears because I was so exhausted and I rubbed my belly and thought to myself. "I just can't wait to meet and hold this little boy of mine." Right at that very moment he kicked as if to say, "I can't wait either mommy." Just one kick. :)
PS: I swore my child would never call me mommy. I've clearly thrown that out the window already.
xx,
Melissa Loren

  1. I'm only a couple weeks ahead of you but at 27 weeks I'm 99% positive I also had Braxton Hicks, so I think it is possible. I read a lot about it online, you know--to freak myself out, and it is totally a-ok according to all those other mamas and dr's!
