I have been so busy that I almost forgot to do Henry's five month must haves. It's interesting to see what we need and don't need as the months go by, or even things that Henry outgrows so quickly. Kory and I were just talking this weekend about how we just opened the pack n play a few weeks ago and Henry's learning new tricks so quickly, that it's already time to take the bassinet portion out. It's nuts how fast he is learning things. He learns something new almost every week now. Anyway, here's what we've been clinging to recently. Flat bear and blanket are two of Henry's favorite things. They're easy for him to hold onto...and get into his mouth. They go everywhere with us. They're usually lifesavers in the car. The blankets are perfect because they're breathable, so you don't have to worry about it covering his face. For now, flat bear is only around when mom and dad are around. Some days it seems like H is teething hardcore, but other days he's totally fine. We have him wear an amber stone necklace during the day. It's supposed to be calming and healing and help with the teething. I'm not 100% convinced, yet, but on the days I forget to put it on him he does seem a bit more fussy. Bath time is Henry's absolute favorite activity. We read this squishy bath book every night and I make all of the farm animal noises for him. He giggles and smiles while I moo and spell out cow. It's a wonderful way to end the night. :) Since I planned to nurse, I registered for the Medela breast milk bottles. We didn't use bottles for the longest time, but since I've returned to work we've turned to them. These are H's favorite bottles and they work well for storage and travel. My last item for this stage definitely isn't a necessity, but it's kind of nice to have. We are finally starting to feel comfortable taking Henry out to eat with us, but he no longer wants to sit in his car seat. He wants to be out and able to check everything out. He's able to sit in a high chair without help now, so that's where we let him sit while we eat. Since everyone and their mom uses high chairs, it's nice to have a cover. This cover works for shopping carts too and it's nice to have the extra cushion since H is still a tiny tater tot. Again, not a necessity, but it's nice to have! That's pretty much it at this stage. Henry is just starting to entertain himself which is so fun to watch. You can see his mind working as he tries to figure new things out. It's pretty awesome. I can only imagine how fun 6 months is going to be!
