In honor of Henry being 40 weeks old today and just incase I over-glamourized pregnancy in any way, here I am on the morning of the day I gave birth. I was 40 weeks to the day and I had been having contractions since about 3 o'clock the day before. I got zero sleep that night and I had lost all of my color from the intense pain. I felt nauseous, heavy and I was just plain over the pain. Kory was lucky to get this pic and even luckier to get that half ass smile out of me. I had a fairly "easy" pregnancy, and I enjoyed it for the most part, but it did not come without it's sacrifices and intense symptoms. Sometimes I really think that I am terrified to be pregnant again, which is crazy since I did enjoy my first pregnancy so much. Those last few weeks are what getcha. You're swolen, you're huge, you can't bend over, food makes you sick, not eating makes you sick, then there's that awful sciatic pain and those little baby toes digging into your ribs. You can't forget that you pee when you sneeze, or just plain move too suddenly or that every part of your body goes numb and gets tingly every time you try to fall asleep. And those AWFUL LEG CRAMPS at night. Gah! I cringe just thinking about them.
With all of that said, 26 hours of labor later, you have the most beautiful human being in your arms and in your heart forever. Our little ones make it all worth it, 1000 times over, but that doesn't mean it isn't hard. :)
Cheers to all my mommas out there! You're doing a GREAT job! And if you're preggo, you're almost there! Hehe. :)
