I've had a lot of Henry posts lately, and I have plenty more, so I thought I'd break up the week with a little something different.
If you've been reading for a while, then you already know how much I love makeup and that this is my 3rd makeup must haves post. That may seem like a lot, but over the course of a few years, that's nothing. To me, makeup is always evolving and I believe our look should with it. I could never get in the routine of wearing the same makeup year after year. I like to try different products and definitely branch out and try different looks. But I'm still sharing the basics, day in and day out routine makeup. I have a gazillion eyeshadows that can totally transform a look and definitely different bronzers and blushes too. These are just my faves and the products I use the most often.
I think in all my other posts I've barely touched on foundation, which is because I've never really worn a lot of foundation, and when I did it was always just a drugstore product. I had a few gift cards from the holidays, so I decided to branch out and upgrade. This MAC foundation has been a game changer. I love the smooth, matte finish it gives my skin, yet there's still a subtle glow, and it lasts all day which is amazing.
I have tried damn near every concealer out there and I have always struggled to find one that covers my dark circles without looking absolutely awful. Thanks to my girl Ashley (heyyyy), I have found TWO that I'll probably never part with. *Please don't ever get discontinued!!!* They're both very full coverage, but without feeling cake-y or heavy. I'd say the Naked Skin concealer is only over the It Cosmetics concealer because of application, I like the wand on the Naked one. Otherwise they're neck in neck on my list.
As far as highlight and contour goes, I'm obsessed with the Anastasia brand. I have the powder one which I think works better for my skin type. I love the different shades and that it has a setter and a highlight. The highlight isn't my absolute favorite though, so I use MACs soft and gentle on my nose and the tops of my cheekbones. It has quite a shimmer to it, but I've found that I really like the look that it gives me. :) If you're looking for a highlighter I suggest that one, but my cousin who is also a makeup lover LOVES Becca cosmetic's highlighter in Champagne Pop! My favorite brush to use for contouring is Tarte's contour brush. It's great for application and blending. I'm also digging Tarte's holiday blush palette. That's the only downfall, it was a limited edition. MACs blush in Gentle is my go to, but it's been a lot of fun to mix it up with this palette.
As far as eyes go, I tried Better Than Sex mascara. I really liked it, but I STILL swear by my drugstore mascara. I don't know what it is, it just works for me. Maybelline's Colossal Volum' will always be my go to. It's not pictured because I need a refill, and because I would still recommend Better Than Sex. My other longtime go to is Sephora's liquid eyeliner, it's another product that I don't see myself parting with. It makes application so easy and the pigment is so incredible. I don't use pencil liner often, but if you do, I highly suggest the Marc Jacobs liner. I also have to mention MACs paint pot. I use it in Soft Ochre and it really makes my shadow pop and last all day. Shadow primers really are worth the money to me. Lastly, and also not pictured, the brow sculpting pencil by hourglass. Handclap emojis for that one. It matches my eyebrow shade the best and also makes filling in your eyebrows foolproof. I like that it keeps it from *looking* like you shaded in your brows. Au naturale eyebrows for the win. ;)

Ok, so I have to talk about this makeup case. I'm not usually a Vera Bradley fan, like at all, but I was gifted a vera bradley bag for Christmas and I exchanged for this makeup case. The original bag was a bit small for my taste and the print wasn't my favorite, so when I realized they had makeup bags I was pretty stoked. I love that this one has a built in brush holder and I cannot get enough of the print! It's a true vacationing bag and I can't wait to take it on trips with me!
Makeup Case: Vera Bradley
Happy day, friends!
